Yvette Boutaugh and Emily Allison won a defense verdict in St. Louis County Circuit Court.  

The case involved two minors who claimed they were assaulted by an employee of a retail store.  The minors were asked to leave the property after acts of theft and vandalism.  While being escorted off the property, an altercation broke out.  There was a material dispute over who caused the first physical contact.

In closing, Plaintiffs asked the jury for $600,000 in compensatory damages and $15,000,000 in punitive damages.

Just short of midnight, the jury returned a defense verdict on one of the minor's claims and a $15,000 verdict in favor of the other minor.
